Who makes the GWM Ute?

The GWM Ute is manufactured by the privately owned Chinese car manufacturer GMW – also known as Great Wall Motors.

The brand, which has been selling vehicles in Australia since 2009, offers a range of quality, affordable essentials that offer ample standard features, especially when compared to traditional rivals.

GWM also owns Haval along with several other brands, two of which are due to launch in Australia in 2023 – Ora and Tank.

Where is the GMW Ute made?

GWM has various production sites in China. The GWM Ute is built in its original city of Baoding, Hebei.

Is the GWM Ute a good car?

The GWM Ute has several appealing qualities, the first being that it is one of the more affordable options in its class with the base Cannon $35,990 driveway.

The GWM Ute comes loaded with plenty of standard features, starting with the base GWM Ute Cannon 4×2. The GWM Ute was officially known as the Stead and was launched in 2016. For a time the Stead was sold alongside the brand’s new Ute before being replaced. The all-new GWM Ute Cannon has been designed and engineered from the ground up. It was officially launched in Australia in 2020.
