Electronic Arts has finally confirmed when EA Sports College Football will be released, but unfortunately the return of the beloved video game series is coming a little later than expected. Early last year, EA announced it would be reviving its college football franchise in the form of EA Sports College Football. And while this announcement alone sent fans into a frenzy, there’s been no news on the title since. Unfortunately, given what we now know about the game’s release, it looks like this lull will only last for a while.
In a new report from ESPNEA revealed that EA Sports College Football will not return until the summer of 2024. While some fans expected the series to return in 2023, EA Sports VP and GM Daryl Holt explained that the project is taking quite a bit of time since it was made from the grind. Additionally, a 2023 launch was never officially planned on EA’s side, meaning the game hasn’t been delayed.
“That’s the best date for us to release the game that we believe will meet or exceed our players’ expectations,” Holt explained of the 2024 release window. what we want in the game. We’re trying to build a very immersive college football experience.”
Although it may be shocking to some fans EA Sports College Football is still so far away, at least it sounds like EA is taking its time with the project. This is even more true considering that EA’s Madden franchise has hit a bit of an all-time low in recent years. As long as the end product is of high quality, it seems EA Sports College Football is about to be another huge hit for EA.
