Dragon Ball Super details Gas’s final form names

Dragon Ball Super gave Gas a number of different forms over the course of the Granolah the Survivor arc, and the series has finally revealed the details of what each of these forms are actually called! The Granolah the Survivor arc was filled with plenty of twists and turns as Goku and Vegeta realized their main enemy wouldn’t be the titular Granolah, but instead one of the Heeters, Gas, as Elec and the others worked on moving their grand plan ahead. As Gas continued to fight against the Saiyans and Granolah, he grew to new levels of power.

As the fight intensified, Gas had about four different main forms that eventually got official names from the Dragon Ball Super Manga team. There was his power form unleashed, his form that came about thanks to a wish on the Dragon Balls, and his tragic final form along with other variants along the way. As detailed in Shueisha’s V-Jump Interval Special (as spotted by @DBSChronicles on Twitter), there were four in particular that were given proper names:

What are the names of gas forms in Dragon Ball Super?

As translated from Japanese, the four forms of Gas break down as follows:

  • Enhanced/powered by Dragon Balls State
  • Instincts liberated state
  • Awakened state
  • Old state

Gas went through these four different forms during his battle with Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah, and it really pushed his body to the brink with each one. When Elec wanted to make Gas the strongest on the Dragon Balls, Gas unknowingly had to sacrifice many more years of his life to grow his power quickly. His body adapted to make up for the difference in his lack of training, and so he ended up with his old and decrepit condition at the end of the fight.

Gas’s final form was shocking indeed, as it was quite a traumatic change from the more muscular and powerful versions before it, and further served to show how his brother used him as a pawn. Even more tragically, it was revealed to be ultimately futile when someone even stronger showed up later on, and now the future of the series is more uncertain than ever.
