Dragon Age: Dreadwolf prequel released

A new prequel to BioWare’s upcoming video game Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has now started. Despite being announced way back in 2018, both BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts have remained incredibly quiet about the next main entry in the Dragon Age series. And while there’s a good chance we’ll see more of the game later this year, a new tie-in product has now been released.

As of today, Dark Horse Comics has released issue #1 of Dragon Age: The Missing. Serve as a prequel to the events of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, The missing follows the characters Varric Tethras and Lace Harding and features a story written by George Mann with illustrations by Kieran McKeown. It is not known exactly how The missing will ultimately be related to dread wolf since the latter’s story has not yet been fully revealed, but this series should definitely help fans eager to get more of this world.

A new story leading directly into BioWare’s upcoming game Dragon Age: Dreadwolf! Varric Tethras and Lace Harding descend into the desolate Deep Roads below Marnas Pell in pursuit of a former friend,” says the official description of Dragon Age: The Missing. “But the plague’s corruption has infected the walls and the threat of darkspawn hangs heavy in the air.”

Like I said, we still don’t know when Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will start exactly, so chances are that The missing will not perfectly lead to the arrival of that game. Yet we do know dread wolf is currently scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC when it comes out. Hopefully, more details about the project will come out in the coming weeks or months.
