Last month, Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft has released a roadmap for 2023, which hints at many of the new features coming this year. The game’s third major update, A celebration of friendshipis due out sometime this month and will feature the arrival of Encanto‘s Mirabel Madrigal, as well Frozen‘s Olaf. However, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the update, and Gameloft released a short teaser video stating that “a new door will open soon,” and that players should “keep an eye on this ‘key’ to unlock.”

In a follow up tweet, Gameloft said that “this key will open a different kind of door… one that gives a lot of importance to one of the new characters you’ll meet in our next update.” Presumably this refers to Mirabel Encanto. Doors played an important role in the film’s story, and in the way each member of the Madrigal family received their special gift. The golden ball in the video above certainly looks like the doorknob of the Casita house, but it’s hard to tell. When we talk about ‘another kind of door’, it is of course also possible that this is a figurative door. We know Olaf’s coming to Disney Dreamlight Valleyand perhaps the most popular song of Frozen is “Love is an open door.”
For now, Disney Dreamlight Valley fans just have to speculate about the game’s third update and what Gameloft has in store! The life sim has found a passionate following since its early access release last September, with fans clamoring for more content to keep them entertained. The game’s roadmap has a lot of content for this year, and Gameloft hinted at additional plans during our recent interview, which readers can find here.
