Dead Space Remake developer teases new game

The developer of the Empty space remake has teased the possibility of more entries in the franchise. Dead Space is a much-loved horror franchise, but it was somewhat short-lived compared to Resident Evil, which seemingly never ends and has expanded across many mediums. Dead Space got three main games, some books, and a few animated movies, but it all happened in the space of about five years. After dead space 3, EA shifted gears and wanted to focus more on online-focused titles, leaving Dead Space in the dust. However, the remake is being incredibly well received and will likely sell quite well too.

That leaves fans wondering what comes after this remake. Some Easter eggs in the remake suggest one dead space 2 remake could happen. Fans are also wondering if this could lead to an all-new game, such as dead space 4. Looks like there’s a chance it could happen. Empty space senior producer Phil Ducharme and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola spoke to GC about the new remake, commenting that they hope they can do more with the Dead Space franchise.

“Certainly, it’s a lot we have,” said Ducharme. “There is interest on my side and I think on Roman’s side – you can see his smile – to explore Empty space Lake. There are ideas, that’s for sure. We’re wrapping up this week, we’re going to make sure that launch goes well and that there are as few technical issues as possible. We go on vacation and then we sit down and have those discussions within EA to say, ‘Well, now what?'”

Of course, we have no idea what this could look like. Whether it’s a new remake or a brand new game remains to be seen, but it looks like things are off to a good start. EA Motive, the team that created the remake, is currently working on a new Iron Man game, which will likely become the new priority for the team.
