Day One Production announces set photo start

A quiet place: day one production has officially begun, and series creator John Krasinski is letting fans know with a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set. The image shows Krasinski holding the clapper to shout “action!” and cameras run on this A quiet place prequel story. Other images in the gallery show director Michael Sarnoski (Pig) on set with Krasinski, Day One star Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther 2) and one of her co-stars who is either Alex Wolff (Hereditary) or Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things 4) – it’s hard to be sure from the angles and makeup work.

The premise of A quiet place: day one sees the franchise continue to expand the scope of its universe. The films are set in the same universe, but obviously focus on different characters and their attempt to survive the first day of invasion by sound-sensitive alien beasts. It’s a critical step at this point in the franchise: A Quiet Place Part II ended with the pivotal twist of the Abbott family and their hard-of-hearing daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds) succeeding in showing a larger group of humans how to weaponize the high tonal frequency Regan discovered through her hearing aids, which can stun the aliens and leave their weakness exposed for the assassination.

While the cameras are just starting to roll A quiet place: day onethe threequel movie A Quiet Place Part III is still slated for a 2025 release date. That movie will presumably sort of deal with the bigger story of humanity starting to fight back against the aliens; it is equally easy to assume that some critical story points and/or character arcs introduced in A quiet place: day one to feed directly A Quiet Place Part III.

“John [Krasinski] has a slew of ideas that could work. I think he just wanted to see how people reacted to this before he put his brain full on third, but he’s got some great ideas,” A Quiet Place star (and Krasinski’s wife) Emily Blunt told Collider when Part II was released .

The A Quiet Place franchise continues to be a strong player for Paramount in the horror genre, with clear continued potential for major expansion. The first film made $340 million on a $17 million budget; the sequel hit the pandemic market in 2021 and still made $297 million on a $61 million budget.
