Black Clover Cliffhanger prepares for Asta’s toughest fight yet

Black clover is officially wrapping up Asta’s final training arc with the first real test of his newest ability, and the latest chapter’s cliffhanger prepares him for his toughest fight yet, as he’ll face the brainwashed Sister Lily Paladin. The final arc of Yuki Tabata’s original manga series began with Asta’s biggest losing streak to date. Not only did he immediately lose to Lucius Zogratis in their first confrontation at the beginning of the arc, but Sister Lily was captured and completely taken over by Lucius’ power.

With Asta then sent to the Land of the Sun and quickly on his way to new power, he was able to get just a little extra time to master the Moves technique. But things soon took a turn when the brainwashed Sister Lily was one of the Paladins sent to the land to wipe it out before Lucius made his real move. As in the previous chapters the Ryuzen Seven struggled with Sister Lily and the others, now it’s Asta’s turn to take on her.

What happens in Asta’s battle with Sister Lily?

Chapter 348 of Black clover sees Asta bounce back in the middle of battle as he has mastered Moves, the new technique he had trained in the Land of the Sun. It’s revealed that his version of the technique takes his use of antimagic and refines it so that Asta can completely break a spell. After knocking out Ichika and the first of the Paladins, the final moments of the chapter see him directly challenge Sister Lily.

By declaring that he will save her, chances are Asta will be able to save Sister Lily thanks to his new technique. It was revealed that his Moves cuts magic completely, and this could be the only way to break the brainwashing spell that Lily is currently suffering from. It would bode well for his eventual rematch with Lucius, and potentially great for the other characters who may already be turned into Paladins.
