Nier: Automata’s big anime debut is getting closer and closer, and fans have gotten another important look at how the original game will translate with a new trailer and poster featuring Pascal! The Nier video game franchise has exploded in recent years thanks to the success of Nier: Automata, and now its story will be exposed in a whole new way as it makes its official anime adaptation premiere next year. As the franchise gears up for this new makeover, fans have been getting some small glimpses at how this will all be brought to life through the anime.
Kidney: Automata Ver1.1a is currently slated for release sometime in January next year, and the latest take on the upcoming adaptation is through a new teaser trailer and poster revealing how Pascal will be brought to life in the anime. Like the other cast members, Aoi Yuki also returns from the video game to voice Pascal in the adaptation. With the series making its way next year, it won’t be long before we get to see more of Pascal and the others. You can check out the new trailer in the video above and the new poster below:

What to expect from Nier: Automata’s Anime
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is currently scheduled to premiere in January 2023 with director Ryouji Masayuma (who also composes the series with original game creator Yoko Taro) for A-1 Pictures. The anime will feature a new original story not featured in the main game and will feature the returning cast members confirmed to include Yui Ishikawa as 2B, Natsuki Hanae as 9S, Hiroki Yasumoto as Pod 042, Kaoru Akiyama as Pod 153 , Chiaki Kano as Commander, Keiko Isobe as Operator 60 and Meari Hatsumi as Operator 210 are all done so far.

The anime may end with a very different story, but Square Enix is teasing the original Nier: Automata game as such,”NieR:Vending Machines tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their struggle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines. Humanity has been expelled from Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a last-ditch effort to take back the planet, the human resistance sends an army of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now a war rages between machines and androids… A war that could soon reveal a long-forgotten truth of the world.”
