Attack on Titan Creator reveals his favorite hero

During this year’s Anime NYC, Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama took the opportunity to visit the United States for the first time. He revealed that he still had doubts about how he brought the Scout Regiment’s journey to an end, while also revealing the influence Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad have on the series, revealing even more tidbits. One of those revelations came in the form of his current favorite hero of the series and it might not be the one you were expecting.

“Heroes” are hard to find Attack on Titan, with this final season Eren Jaeger transforming from the Scout Regiment’s best hope of saving Paradis into an adversary that Mikasa and company must now stop as the new Founding Titan works to eliminate all those living outside their island. Forming a new version of the Survey Corps that adds former enemies to their ranks, including Reiner the Armored Titan and Annie the Female Titan, the upcoming battle that will end the series will be one of the largest the Survey Corps has dealt with so far. Given how controversial the ending was in the franchise’s manga, it’ll be interesting to see how it’s received on the small screen next year.

Attack on Jean

As revealed during his Attack on Titan panel during Anime NYC, Hajime Isayama revealed that his current favorite hero is Jean Kirstein, the Eldian soldier who first just wanted to become a soldier to get an easy job to observe Paradis’ royalty, but realized his skills would be the best on the front lines.

Jean has yet to gain the power to transform into a Titan, but despite this fact, he has remained an important part of the franchise. During the formation of the new Scout Regiment, Jean was able to get a little bit of revenge against the Armored Titan Reiner, who had killed many of his comrades and innocent civilians while working for Marley. In the final battle, fans must prepare for Jean to take a central role in the fight against Eren.
