Paul Rudd takes on his disciplined side when he has to embark on bodybuilding to get ripped for his movies like Ant man of the Miracle.
In an interview for the magazine Men’s health, the 53-year-old actor shared a little more of his training journey to become the superhero. As he gets older, he said, it becomes more and more difficult to achieve the same results as 5 years ago:
“I worked really hard to get back in shape quantity, and then I realized, ‘Wow, this is much harder than the last one’. I had regained all the weight I had lost before. My clothes were suddenly all tight and I was like, ‘Oh my god, what the hell. I can’t even wear these pants’;”
Paul also confessed to overcharging himself and Takes too much responsibility if you don’t get what you want. Stressed about gaining weight, the actor said he made things worse by eating even more junk food:
“I said to myself, ‘Well, as it is now, I’ll have some more cookies,’ and I was quite irritable and self-conscious. I wasn’t in a good mood, I kept blaming myself too much.”
Actor had cut shirtless scene Ant man and got annoyed because I trained ‘for nothing’
Being realistic with your abilities is also essential, the actor explained. He said he is aware of his limits and that it helps a lot to remember that he doesn’t have the physique of one Chris HemsworthFor example:
“I can be a super focused person if I have a goal. For example, if I’m going to make a movie like that and I know I’m going to have to do a shirtless scene in four months, I’m totally into it. I also try to find a healthy middle ground because even if I eat well and work hard, I will still be worse off than most of the other Avengers..”
In the same interview, Paul said he was a little frustrated when they cut out a scene showing his physique in the first film. When it was all over, he admitted, he was relieved because in the end he couldn’t help but make a fool of himself for it:
“On the one hand, I was annoyed because I worked out for the scene for a year. But on the other hand, if I had to see myself shirtless in a MiracleI would just make fun of it any way I could.
