A Thousand Years of Blood War reveals new footage for episode seven

The latest installment of Bleach’s Thousand Year Blood War Arc has changed the game forever as the Soul Society has lost what may be their greatest asset when it comes to stopping the Wandenreich from overtaking the afterlife and fighting their way through Shinigami and Arrancar right. As Sternritter’s head proves its strength, new footage has come in that points to the terrifying situation Ichigo Kurosaki and his fellow Shinigami will find themselves in when the seventh episode of the Shonen’s anime adaptation arrives next week.

The Thousand Years of Blood War has wasted no time in proving that this Shonen arc is arguably the bloodiest arc of the franchise to date. The Wandenreich have reached the ground floor and not only have they proven their strength by fighting their way through both Arrancar and Soul Reapers, but they’ve also stolen their share of Bankais, not only from lower Shinigami who make up the supernatural force, but also of the captains who once fought against Ichigo. With Yamamoto seemingly losing his life thanks to Yhwach’s power and a strategy where a doppelgänger started the fight, Ichigo gets into a fight, unlike anything the alternate Soul Reaper has seen before.

The blood war heats up

Bleach’s Millennial Blood War shared new footage for the seventh episode where Ichigo Kurosaki struggles in what could be his first confrontation with Yhwach, following the possible demise of the strongest Soul Reaper to lead the organization in the afterlife since the beginning of the Shonen franchise:

While the anime adaptation has only just kicked off the Blood War, the future of the manga is yet to be determined at this point following Tite Kubo’s return to his masterpiece last year, introducing readers to Ichigo and company years after the end of the battle against the Wandenreich. The special chapter ended on quite a cliffhanger as the Soul Society uncovered a dark secret about what happens to their mighty captains when they are killed in battle and how these events turn them into potential threats.
