2023 MG ZS EV: All the facts

Buying an electric car opens up a whole new world of facts and figures to learn and compare. To help you, we’ve created this handy data card that gives you all the crucial pieces of the EV puzzle.

The MG ZS EV is an all-electric small SUV, priced from $44,990 drive away.

This makes it Australia’s cheapest ticket for electric car ownership, thanks in part to MG’s recent price cuts. Its closest competitor is the similar (but slightly more expensive) price point BYD Atto 3.

It is offered in two specification levels, Excite and Essence, which share the same recently updated powertrain. The battery now has one 51kWh capacity and offers a range of up to 320km (after WLTP cycle).

The base-spec MG ZS EV Excite has a good level of safety and equipment, including a 10.1-inch infotainment display (including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and native navigation), a 360-degree camera and LED lighting front and back.

If you upgrade to the Essence spec – which is $4000 more expensive at $48,990 road to car – you get extra kit like heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, cell phone charging, a six-speaker sound system and a power adjustment for the driver’s seat (among other things).

Essence also gets blind spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert, something the Excite spec doesn’t get.

A 130kW/280Nm Electric motor turns the front wheels, and curb weight of MG ZS EV varies from 1570 kg to 1610 kg.
