That 2023 Lexus UX will hit Australian showrooms next month as an updated version of the small luxury SUV arrives with a range of trim and chassis upgrades.

Unveiled in May 2022, the 2023 UX is between $1250 and $2395 more expensive than the model it replaces. Lexus’ small SUV lineup starts with the UX200 Luxury from $46,085 plus road cost and is topped with the flagship UX250h AWD F Sport from $65,995 plus road cost.

For 2023, eight variants of the Lexus UX will be available to Australian buyers, with three optional “enhancement packs” also on offer – although pricing for these packs is yet to be confirmed.

A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen replaces the old 10.3-inch display and touchpad controller, and includes all-new infotainment software with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation and digital radio.

Additional upgrades for the base 2023 Lexus UX200 variant over the 2022 model include a 10-speaker sound system (previously eight speakers), Lexus Connected Services (with smartphone-controlled functions) and auto start-stop, now standard on all grades.

The Lexus UX will retain – and evolve – its 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine 126 kW and 205 Nm in the UX200 with front-wheel drive – while the UX250h hybrid is powered by a 107 kW 2.0 liter petrol enginepaired with one 80kW/202Nm electric motor.

All-wheel drive UX250h variants get a 5.3 kW electric motor on the rear axle. Both UX250h variants with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive together develop 131 kW.
