That 2023 Haval Jolion SUV A new turbocharged variant has been added to the range, with the Jolion S due to appear in Australian showrooms shortly.

The Haval Jolion S is priced at $36,990 — $4,000 less than the flagship hybrid variant, but $3,000 more than the non-turbo Ultra.

According to Haval, the Jolion S is equipped with the Jolion Hybrid’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (no electric motor) that develops 130 kW and 270 Nm – 9 kW/105 Nm less than the hybrid and 20 kW/50 Nm more than the non-turbo variants.

Drive is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Haval claims the Jolion S uses 7.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, making it more efficient than the standard 1.5-liter engine’s 8.1 l/100 km, but 50 percent thirstier than the hybrid.

The Haval Jolion S is the only variant in the range to come with an independent multi-link rear suspension (instead of the standard torsion beam setup), which Haval claims will offer “enhanced ride and handling performance”.

Additional changes to the Jolion S include “hard” climate control knobs, black alloy wheels, black door mirror caps, black roof rails, black side trim, and blacked-out lower front and rear bumpers.

All other features are inherited from the Jolion Ultra (full list below).
