the Kia Cerato GT is a great overall package with all the technical and safety features that a modern car needs.
It’s fun, does what you want, when you want, looks great and is very economical to drive in many situations.
Only a few things take away from the overall car. There’s no manual option, finding replacement parts can be very tricky, the AEB is something you learn to turn off quickly, which defeats its purpose (it almost caused a couple of accidents when it was actually on), and the suspension has been softened too much compared to the previous year and makes the car float on the road.
The DCT is a good starting point, but it still needs further development if Kia decides to keep it. I’ve had issues with sluggish shifting and response, but I’ve read online that this is something the dealer can fix through their software.
Throttle response can be odd and sluggish depending on the mode, and trying to cruise consistently at 40 or 50 km/h in Sport mode is impossible with its setting.
